When the biggest highlight in your life for the past 30 years has been your weekly bridge night out with the "girls," what do you do you when one of your foursome dies? If you're Connie, Leona and MIllie, you "borrow" the ashes from the funeral home for one last card game, and the wildest, most exciting night of your lives involves a police raid, a stripper and a whole new way of looking at all the fun you can have when you're truly living.

Taking place in an unnamed country in a world long ago, we follow the lives of a
Prince and a young woman as they mature. Her father, seeking revenge, has been rejected by his village for refusing to save another man in peril. As a result, he and his daughter, Ariana, are outcasts. The Prince, seeking to find his way in the world, comes upon Ariana and learns a gypsy fortune teller has told her she will be claimed by a Prince who comes in a ship with Crimson sails. The Prince captured a ship from pirates which has white sails – convincing Ariana that he is not the Prince she awaits – until a sailmaker, fortunately, has an unfortunate accident.

"Stop Kiss" by Diana Son focuses on the story of Sara and Callie, who are assaulted on the street after their first kiss. Sara is horribly injured. She falls into a coma. George, Callie's good friend, tries to help with the situation, but there is little he can do. Sara's ex-boyfriend from St. Louis, comes to help nurse her back to health. Throughout "Stop Kiss," relationships are explored, formed, and even ended. The author, Diana Son, elaborates on the depths of human emotion and compassion in this play.

Auditions May 22-23, 2023 Various directors and 8 to 10 original one-act plays. The plays selected to be produced are the top-ten finalists, chosen by a play-reading committee of four readers. Each reader in the play reading committee reads each and every play submitted to the competition.r
