Auditions take place at the Players' Back Door Theater, 1619 49th St S, Gulfport.
Plan to arrive a few minutes early to complete an audition form or use the PDF file below, fill it in, and bring it to the auditions.
Ron Zietz will direct and is looking to cast:
CASEY - male, 20s, white, wannabe Elvis impersonator who becomes a drag queen star, somewhat naive, big-hearted, impersonates a number of female country singers, should have a working knowledge of guitar to accompany his live song.
Tracy: male, 45 to 55, aging drag queen who becomes mentor to Casey's drag persona, a cousin of Eddie, impersonates a number of iconic female singers.
Rexy - male, 45 to 55, aging drag queen, friend of Tracy, bold, brash, usually on "the sauce" poignant monologue in Act !!.
Eddie- male, middle age, owner of Cleo's Bar, brings in Tracy and Rexy to promote business, lousy emcee who evolves to a sparkling crowd promoter.
Jo - female, 20s, wife of Casey, practical, gradually becomes aware of Casey's drag persona, pregnant with twins.
Jason - male, 302, friend and landlord of Casey and JO, quirky, doubles as part of the Crew/Panama Sissies.
Crew/Panama Sissies - 3 adults, any age, gender, (no lines), take care of costumes, wigs, onstage and off, change sets in full view of audience, lip-sync and dance in Finale.
SUMMARY: He's young, he's broke, his landlord's knocking at the door, and he's just found out his wife is going to have a baby. To make matters even more desperate, Casey is fired from his gig as an Elvis impersonator in a run-down, small town Florida bar. When the bar owner brings in a B-level drag show to replace his act, Casey finds that he has a whole lot to learn about show business- and himself.
It's a genderbending farce...a funny and glorious tribute to the art of drag, while delivering a strong message on tolerance for the entire spectrum of sexuality.
Performances will be June 5-15 at the Catherine Hickman Theater.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Use the PDF file below to print an audition form, fill it in, and bring to auditions OR arrive before 7 PM to complete an audition form. Headshots are useful but not mandatory.
